A 162-yard shot isn’t 162 yards. Uphill, it plays longer. Downhill, shorter. Into cold air, longer still. Most apps hand you the flat distance and let you guess the rest — the part that actually decides your club.

Common questions.

What if I forget to start a round?
The app detects when you’re at a course you’ve played and offers to start a round automatically. If you miss the prompt, tap Start Round at any point in your round — the caddie catches up on the hole you’re on.
How is this different from GolfShot or Arccos?
Those tools track what you did. Master Caddies tells you what to do. Instead of reviewing stats after your round, you get a caddie’s voice making the club and strategy call on every hole — then the round data updates your recommendations next time out.
Will my handicap post automatically?
Master Caddies calculates your handicap differential after every round using USGA methodology — no math, no spreadsheet. GHIN integration for automatic posting is on the near-term roadmap.
Which caddie should I pick?
Six Master Caddies, six styles. Rex is calm and direct. Digger brings the energy. Alfred is the refined strategist. Frankie is New York honest. Angus is old-school links wisdom. Savannah is your biggest believer. Try a different one each round — you can switch between rounds, anytime. Most golfers settle into a favorite by round three.
How detailed are the course maps?
Every course gets live GPS yardages today. Detailed hole maps for every course are rolling out next — and partner courses go further with Course Blueprints, where every carry, width, and depth is actually measured. A number only gets called a True Shot when real geometry backs it.
Can two players share one phone?
Yes — Cart Mode. Mount one phone to the cart and both playing partners get yardages and strategy for every shot, without each needing their own subscription. No other golf app offers it.
Does Master Caddies work on the Apple Watch?
Yes. Yardages, club calls, and hole briefs come through your wrist — no need to pull out your phone. Voice plays through your AirPods or the Rover speaker. Apple Watch support is live in the launch build.
What if I don’t agree with the club recommendation?
Hit what you want. Master Caddies learns from your scores, miss patterns, and the recommendations you accept or skip. Over a few rounds, its calls sharpen to your tendencies.
Does my course need to be a Rover partner for the app to work?
No. Master Caddies works at any of 17,000+ U.S. courses on your phone. At Rover partner courses, you also get the head pro’s Pro Strategy for every hole — the actual play your pro would call.
How does Master Caddies know my distances?
Enter your bag in your profile once. Master Caddies uses your distances on every shot. As you log scores and rounds, the app refines its recommendations based on what’s working — the goal is your 7-iron number gets sharper every round.
